Since September 2023 GoLP has counted on a new member of its Science Management and Admin Team – Susana Muiños.

Susana recently gave an interview to Jornal de Negócios (“Publish or perish”, the reserachers’ saga) where she talks about her path from research to science communication and management.

Susana is a former marine geologist who embraced science management and communication as a new path in her career after perishing as a researcher. Her new career was an obvious choice as she wanted to continue in a science related area.

For Susana, performing high-level research and innovation requires the support of a multitude of research management roles, undertaken by researchers or other professionals, crucial for freeing researchers from the observation and management activities of the scientific and technological system and providing them with more time for R&D activities.

As science manager at GoLP, Susana aims to contribute to GoLP’s commitment to continuously raising the bar on the scientific and technological development of Portugal and Europe.
